XXXVII. Lost Joy.

I HAD a daily bliss
        I half indifferent viewed,
Till sudden I perceived it stir, --
        It grew as I pursued,

Till when, around a crag,
        It wasted from my sight,
Enlarged beyond my utmost scope,
        I learned its sweetness right.
